New Long Distance Path - The Westmoreland and Furness Way
A new 120 long distance walking route has been created for 2026. It crosses 3 National Parks and runs from Alston, England's highest town, to the Abbey in Barrow-in-Furness.
It takes in the moors of the pennines, crosses the Eden Valley, crosses the Howgills, runs along Windermere and takes in the coastline of the Morcambe Bay.
The trail officially launches in September.
