I'm a freshman CS major and I got a horrible grade in COSC 1437 (Introduction to Programming, taught in C++). I need to retake it to satisfy the prerequisite for COSC 2425 (Computer Organization and Architecture). I'm considering taking an equivalent course at Houston Community College over the summer, but HCC's version is taught in either Java or Python rather than C++. Will UH's CS department accept HCC's intro programming course as a valid prerequisite substitute for COSC 2425, even though the language is different? Has anyone navigated this situation before or know how UH handles transfer equivalencies for CS prerequisites specifically?
