Like the title says - I don’t know if I am going insane or not but every time I go into Bunnings or a window supplier and ask for help I am looked at like I am insane and can’t get a straight answer.

I’d like to replace the sliding window jambs/spine that has the lock on it. I have shown pictures to the floor staff and it’s gotten me no where.

Is there a way to remove the jamb/spine with the latch in it and replace it with one that doesn’t stick out towards the operator so much? I want to install rolling blinds but two of my windows have the same jamb/spine and prevent me from having uniform installations around the house and my inner tradesman cannot abide by that heresy.

It looks like it’s just two screws and the spine sits on a rubber seal so I find it hard to imagine there isn’t a way to replace these parts.
