DI System Options for High TDS
Weekend warrior here. I am out in AZ on well water and have ridiculously high TDS (measured yesterday at 550 from hose and 690 off softened water). I wash 1 car about every 5days (fiances and mine) with about half of the washes being traditional, and the other half being rinseless.
I am looking at options for setting up a DI System for my final rinse will be especially useful in summer here. I am thinking of adding a whole house filter before the softener and adding a hose bib in the garage off the filtered/softened water before running through a mixed bed resin media.
Does anyone have experience getting notoriously high TDS down to 0 or near 0? I don't want to go the RO/DI/holding tank route as I don't use it enough. Maybe something that can economically accommodate 5-10gallons/week for the final rinse. When I say economical, I don't necessarily mean the cheapest long term option (like the ro/di/holding tank) just one I can get a decent enough of water through before changing any filter media.
