Just saw some negative reviews about Tomorrow Hotel Taipei, and now I’m having second thoughts. 😅

I already booked my stay there for my upcoming trip, but I’m considering canceling it and booking Star Ximen instead.

Has anyone here stayed at Star Ximen? How was your experience?

Also, if you have any recommendations for affordable hotels around Ximending with clean rooms and a good location, I’d really appreciate them. Thanks!

Best Cafés for Reading? ☕️

I know there are loads of coffee shops now, but I’m looking for a cozy café where I could just sit and read a book. Somewhere with good coffee, and a warm, cozy atmosphere.

Any recommendations?

1.5 days in Taipei — first time visit, what should I prioritize?

Hi everyone! I’ll be visiting Taipei for the first time, but I only have about 1.5 days total (cousin booked it).

My original travel plan changed last minute (my cousin backed out), but I still decided to go since rebooking would cost more. So now I’m adjusting everything on my own.

Since my time is very limited, I’m trying to be realistic and not overpack my itinerary or spend most of the trip in transit.

What I’d really appreciate advice on:

  1. What are the absolute must-see places for a first-time visitor?
  2. Is Jiufen worth squeezing into such a short trip, or too rushed?
  3. Best food spots / night markets in central Taipei
  4. Any easy-to-reach hidden gems or local favorites

I’m okay skipping some famous attractions if it means having a better, more relaxed experience of the city.

Would really appreciate honest suggestions 🙏
