Hello Vancouverites, I'm an incoming PhD student at UBC this Fall, and I want to get started on my apartment hunting. I'd probably move to Vancouver in the start of August, so I wanted to get ahead of things.

I would like so privacy so I am willing to share with atmost 1 other flat-mate. Given this, I'd also be commuting using public transport, so it should be within 30 min ish of transit to UBC.

Please give suggestions of areas to look for, and what kind of rental suite I expect to get with $1500 budget (flexible).

And are craigslist/FB marketplace the only places I should look at?
