For weeks I planned to take a tab (155ug from a reliable source), but when the time came I chickened out because I was in an off mood.

I decided to take 2/3 instead (100ug). I don’t know what I thought would happen, but I had an incredible experience that was a lot more manageable than I expected.

1. The come up: It took 90 minutes before I started to feel the full effects. Based on past experience with mushrooms, I expected to feel sick and anxious, but I felt incredible the entire come up, a real mood boost.

2. The peak: The experience wasn’t super visual, it was more of a mindset shift. I felt clear headed, and like I could fully appreciate colors, sounds, and textures.

The world started to feel a lot more authentic and real. Oddly, I started to feel more normal and “neurotypical” than I do when I’m sober. The brain fog melted away.

I live downtown in a large city, and before the trip I was worried that the commotion outside would send me down a dark spiral. But it didn’t. Instead I felt at peace, like I could accept the world for what it was, and I didn’t have to feel responsible for what it wasn’t.

Then I decided to watch Pink Floyd at Pompeii (the 2025 remaster). That was an incredible experience!

3. The come down: Around the 8 hour mark I had dinner and watched a movie. The chill and relaxed vibes continued, and around 11 hours in I could still feel it a bit but decided to sleep.

Overall, I’m impressed with how positive the experience was, because this is not how I tend to feel with shrooms or weed.

Shrooms make me feel super nauseous, lethargic, and confused. It’s easy for me to slip into a bad headspace. I feel like I become a scared little mushroom that leaks mucus from all orifices.

Weed makes me feel like I marinated my brain in mud. I become a paranoid cotton ball, and for some reason I feel pain everywhere.

So, I had low expectations for acid. But it made me feel clear headed, relaxed, positive, lightweight, and honestly more like the human I want to be.
