Bout to order a latex mattress & adjustable base. I think?
PLEASE help! I have had a headache for MONTHS reading this, that and the other while trying to decide what the best route is when it comes to buying a new bed and I've pulled almost all my hair out at this point
Here's our deets in hopes y'all can give me some sound advice:
Sleeper #1 5' 125# combination sleeper that is in constant motion
And then there's me, the problem child
Sleeper #2 5' 8" 220# (but had a gastric sleeve procedure at 325# and steadily losing weight with the hopes to end up around 170#) left side sleeper that doesn't move during sleep, has fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, scoliosis, GERD and insomnia
We currently sleep on a 15 yr old spring mattress, with the biggest ruts you have ever seen in it, and are both in pain every morning because of it.
We want a split king on an adjustable base because we want to go to bed together but yours truly is awake half the night and I just wanna watch Dateline next to my snoring sweetie without my back, knees or acid reflux killing me (constantly wiggling 5 pillows around under me is pretty annoying to us both). How hard can that be?!?
Considering SleepEZ 9" 100% Dunlop #1 M/M/F & #2 S/M/F mainly for durability reasons but we're kinda scared about it because we have no idea what that's like and nowhere nearby to test it. To be honest I want the bed to outlive me and the way it's lookin, 20 years should cover it lol Also, been thinking the Sleep Science Q-Series Adjustable Base at Costco may be a good way to go when it comes to the base just for price and ease of returns? As much as I would LOVE the head tilt and lumbar options, they aren't deal breakers for us.
Right now with the Memorial Day sales it's looking like $3kish for this setup but is it wise? Does it sound like what we need? Is there a better option? Will this base work with these mattresses without voiding the warranty for some reason? What if we hate it, is there another company with an easier and/or cheaper exchange/return policy? Hit me with all your suggestions, questions and criticisms!
