Okay, so. This book has been plaguing my mind since I first read it and forgot the title. I have looked in every corner of the internet that I possibly can, and no dice.

I read this book in middle school (I believe I was in 7th grade). The title describes what I can remember of the cover, and as far as the plot goes, literally the only thing I can remember is that it was a collection of forensic cases. I vividly remember one specific case that I wasn't able to finish reading because I had to turn the book back in to the school library.

This particular case was about someone's history teacher that had gone missing for a few days. They eventually found his body at home, but nothing about the scene was natural. The guy was in his bed, halfway sitting up. He was clutching his blanket, and it looked like he was screaming in agony when he died.

The weirdest part about this particular case in the book is that when the M.E. was performing the autopsy, *the teacher's bones were completely dry inside his body*. Iirc, the exact phrasing was something along the lines of "It's almost as if he spontaneously combusted, but it was completely internal".

Any ideas? I've been searching for literal years and haven't had any luck.
