The Indian School of Business Class Profile has shifted from a "Score Race" to a "Portfolio Play." Here is the unfiltered reality;

The average GMAT Focus score is 669. If you’re at 655 or 665, you aren't "below average", you are right in the strike zone. AdCom has plateaued on scores; they are now looking for Goal Clarity.

What this tells you, GMAT is not the deciding variable. It's a context variable. The same score reads completely differently depending on everything else in your file.

The engineering overrepresentation problem and why it's your opportunity: 54% of the ISB Class of 2026 came from an engineering undergraduate background. A further 21% from commerce, finance and accounting.If you’re from Law, Arts, or Design, you now hold the "Diversity Premium."

The "High-Stakes" Leader: We’re seeing a massive conversion rate for "Non-Corporate" leadership. Merchant Navy, Defense, and Social Impact candidates are getting in with lower GRE/GMAT scores because their leadership "Yield" is higher.

The Product Management Pivot: While Consulting remains the #1 recruiter (37%), Tech & Product have claimed 28% of the class. ISB has officially evolved into India’s premier PM factory. If your "Why MBA" is Tech, you are exactly who they want right now.

The data doesn't tell you whether you're good enough for ISB.

It tells you that people with profiles far less conventional than yours have been sitting in that classroom for years.

The only question that actually matters is whether you can tell your story in a way that earns your seat.
