My dad.

I apologize if this seems a bit scattered and incoherent, I'll try my best to make it not.

Just as a bit of background context, my dad has a family and financial situations some would kill for. He has a very good job and position. He has multiple kids and a wife. He's abused us basically since the start of marrying my mom. This includes physical abuse, demeaning, insulting, etc... basically everything you can think of, except permanent physical damage and substance abuse.
There isn't one specific big MC story, so instead there's only a small interaction with a lot of context behind. I hope y'all don't mind <3

The one that I always remember first is about me participating in a school competition outside of the school.

Some more context, and my brother are both 'gifted' in English. We grew up on English by watching only English videos and talking to each other in almsot purely English growing up, so we were basically natively English compared to our peers. Because of this, the schools we were in always picked us for any sort of English related competition, spelling bees for example. Some of these competitions happened to be outside of the school. We also happen to be slightly competent with tech and not tech illiterate, so we had moderate tech skills while most people had none.

Late 2025, there was a nation wide cybsec competition involving all of the highschools in the nation. One of the guys in my class refused the offer, so it got passed to me. I had to get a paper signed for the school to take me to a college to listen to a lecture about cybsec to eventually go to a competition.

This is where the MC comes in. My dad has been like this our entire lives and we've missed out on all but 1 or 2 out of school competitions because of this. I asked him to sign the paper, which he eventually did, but until then, he was heavily debating it and on the verge of refusing outright. Every time this happened until now, he straight up refused outright with minimal explanation. The last few times, including this time, he offered an explanation.

The explanation was, I'm not even kidding, 0 exaggeration or hyperbole, he was battling corruption in his workplace, which made the corrupt people have it out for him. So he was afraid of them harming or straight up killing me, while I was on the bus to go there. He works as a mechanical engineer in the Ministry of Interior.

Why did MJ get so many cosmetic surgeries?

I'm sorry but dude straight up looks uncanny. When he had no cosmetic surgeries and was darker he looked pretty good and I'm willing to bet he'd look good with the skin condition and completely white, but the cosmetic surgeries made him look horrible.

how do i make it retain its position? i want to remove the green background paint while keeping the original image colors underneath but i forgot to make the green part a separate layer. everything else is a separate layer so i can just copy paste those and have the same effect but theyre not in the position i want them to be

I see other abusive stories and I get this small feeling of my situation not being as valid as theirs because theirs is so much worse.

I realized just now that almost every single person in an abusive situation downplays how serious it is and excuses some if not all of the abusers behaviour.

Does this have to do with the core way the brain is "wired"?

Also edit, question is something along the lines of "Are brains wired to do something like this? Why?" but I can't change the title
