First Ever Setup! (Small Story time)

Small Story time:

I posted eight days ago in this sub about identifying these speakers i found jogging in my gf's neighborhood. That's when I learned what 'white van specials' were haha. Their bases were moldy, they needed refoaming, and considering they were knock-offs-maybe they weren't worth my time but I fixed them up anyway. And I'm so glad I did. Paired with this Onkyo Tx-35 amp that I also got with the speakers they sound surprisingly great!! I have a decent ear for speakers; being a dj I've played in quite a few audio systems in many different spaces so for causal listening this setup is awesome 😄

I was a little worried because when I first started playing out of them the two tweeters and one of the small woofers sounded horrible (crackling and static) and the volume knob appeared to have an issue with a failing potentiometer but after a few minutes it seems like the old parts just needed some warming up😅

I shied away from passive speakers with my mobile djing cause it seemed overcomplicated but now I think I'll look to them more in the future for my business and my personal setups cause I feel like I could get some great deals/discounts since active ones are more convenient.

I'm 20 years old and in college and I feel like I just found a new hobby for the rest of my life lol, it was satisfying repairing these and such a rush when I started to hear them play good music. I'll prob be back in this sub when I start to play around with cassettes bc a onkyo TA-2026 tape deck also came with the lot.

LMK if you guys have any tips for someone getting into this for the first time or thoughts on my system!

I found them jogging in my gf's neighborhood, some guy was giving them away for free along with a TX-35 Receiver and a TA-2026 Tape deck. The receiver and tape deck are pretty sweet and cleaned up nice but the speakers needed some love. I already removed the base on both due to mold and need to replace the Bass Woofer foam. I also need to apply some sort of finish to the exterior cabinet bc it's really sticky.

It's not really necessary but it would be nice to know what kind of speakers these are. I've tried looking up the name "Studio Monitor VII" and nothing concrete comes up. Claude can't find the right ones either and the box they came in says SB-LX90 but these don't seem to be the right ones either.

I'm in college and never really thought I'd enjoy vintage stuff like this but I really appreciate the quality and have been having a bunch of fun so far. I'll send a pic of my setup after its all done.

I cant upload a second photo of the back but its a black panel with a sticker that says, "Studio Monity VII" | Impedance 4 Ohms | Power 80 Watts | 9A587-1-a
