I really need advice from people who improved their MBE score.
I got a 260 on the bar and my essays were actually decent, but my MBE completely dragged me down. I’m a foreign attorney and I feel like multiple choice has always been my biggest weakness.
The worst part is that every time I miss a question, especially after narrowing it down to two answers, I genuinely feel like crying. It makes me feel stupid and like I’m not improving fast enough. I can usually understand the law when I review it afterward, but during the exam I struggle with pattern recognition, traps, timing, and reading speed.
Did anyone else feel this way and still manage to significantly improve their MBE? What specifically helped you:
- pattern recognition?
- timing?
- reviewing wrong answers?
- memorizing black letter law?
- learning how NCBE tests issues?
I already have Adaptibar, Grossman videos, and Critical Pass cards. I’m retaking in July 2026 and I really want to do this right this time.
Any honest advice or success stories would really help.
