My workplace just rolled out a challenge to walk, run, kayak or bike 100 miles from may 1st- oct 31st and I have put a goal in my head to hit 4500 miles. I was hoping someone would be kind enough to point me in the direction of a bike that is most efficient on pavement but can handle one sandy 1/4mile long trail. Figured I’d ask here before buying a Walmart special.

Edit to add: I don’t mind spending money, I just don’t know anything about bikes.
