Return to Work?

26 F getting L hip arthroscopy in 7 weeks. I am very active, this injury occurred due to training/running half marathons. I also have a long background of weight lifting, swimming, etc. so my muscle strength isn’t an issue.

I work as an ICU Physician Assistant so most of my job is a mix of walking/sitting and charting. Is 1-2 weeks reasonable to return to work with limitations? My job is very willing to work with me on this and I am very lucky. Just do not know what to expect.

Surgery Must-Haves

Had my MRA follow-up today, long story short i have FAI, labrum tear, and my socket needs to be shaved down to prevent recurrence (it’s shaped weird). I decided to go surgery route to just fix the problem and focus on recovery and getting back to my normal routine ASAP. The surgery is scheduled for Oct 14, woohoo!

Now, for those of you that have had this surgery, what are things you would and would not buy again for recovery? I have thought about wedge pillows to help with sleeping, ice packs, all the comfy things. I have never had surgery before, so I am quite unsure of what to expect lol. I feel like there will be a lot of things I need that I wouldn’t even think about until it’s too late.

Also - anything specific I should try to do for the next 2 months to make recovery any easier (exercises, PT, biking, etc). ??

Any advice is appreciated!! Just trying to stay on top of things!
