Haven't heard back from Postbac application, am I still being considered?

I applied for a postbac position at LANL back in March, and the portal says that my application is "In Review". Does anybody know when I can expect to hear back about an interview/offer, or should I assume I am not being considered since its been a while?

I received a PhD offer in an area I am not passionate in

I am graduating with a degree in astrophysics and recently received a Physics PhD offer, though the astronomy groups are not taking any more students so I would be doing something completely unrelated. The research sounds interesting but I am not sure that I will enjoy it, since it is a very new area to me, though I am open to trying it out. However, I am worried that after a year I will decide that I don't like it, and will have committed myself to many years in a research group I am not passionate about.

I don't want to wait for the next admission cycle and risk losing the offer because I am an international student and am worried I will not be able to come back to the US if I decline this opportunity, and don't want another year of uncertainty.

I would appreciate any advice.

Planetary Science Program

Hi! I'm interested in applying for the MSc in Planetary Science and Space Exploration. Can people tell me what the program is like and the career prospects afterwards? Do most people go work in industry after or go into academia? What kind of jobs are people employed in?

I'm a low-income international student studying astrophysics. I have been made an offer for a PhD program, however, due to limited astro funding it is unclear whether I will be able to do astro research so I would need to switch my research area. The university is in a city that I've wanted to move to my whole life so I'm worried that if I decline, I'm missing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am more interested in astro than other things, but am not super passionate to the degree that some other people are, so I would potentially consider other fields.
I am also applying for an OPT to see if I can do any astro post-bac programs, but it seems those might be even more competitive this year. I will need to stay an additional month or more to figure out the OPT situation, and might need someone to mail my EAD to me in that case.

Third option is to drop this whole situation and move back home, apply to astro MSc programs in the EU (probably Germany), where I would have to pay a very minimal tuition fee and could possibly work part-time to pay for rent, though I'm not sure how easy that will be, considering I don't speak the language. I am confident I can get into a good program there, but if I wanted to come back to the US I would probably need to reapply to PhD programs if I decide I still want to do that.

I am currently just quite burnt out and don't know what I want to do so I would appreciate any advice.
