Worth Retaking?

I want to preface that I’m really happy with my 7 point jump and worked really hard for it. I was sad to see CARS fall by a point. I am wondering if it is worth retaking to try and boost CARS to 127+? Or just shoot my shot and apply with this growth.

Appreciate all comments. If you have questions for me about anything I’ll do my best to answer!

Anyone taking their MCAT a second time? (September testers)

I am taking my MCAT for the second time 9/3. Almost one year to the day from my first attempt. If you are a retaker, how are you feeling?

Feel free to talk about changes in your prep from the first time, fears and expectations, or just general thoughts.

I am personally terrified that the FLs I retook from AAMC are inflated and I won't actually improve, even though I've changed so much of my study habits.

Testing 9/3 and Tweaking...

Most recent FL above ^^

So I am kinda losing my mind. I took the MCAT the first time in September of 2025 with this score breakdown: 123/125/123/127 = 498. I am taking it again in a little under 3 weeks, and I am terrified. I changed a lot about my study habits between my first and second attempts.

First attempt: only completed 30% of Uwhirl, did all of the milesdown deck on Anki, and completed Yusuf Hasan's courses (wouldn't have broken 490 without his help fr). Did most of the AAMC question banks and section bank vol 1.

Second attempt: Finished all of Uwhril. Finished the Anking Deck. Re-did milesdown psych soc deck (pankow just isnt for me). Did all of the section banks and bio question bank vol 1 and Chem vol 1. About to cram through the rest of the question banks in the next 1.5 weeks. Actually made error cards for Uwhirl and AAMC that I run through every day.

Now I have changed alot but I am scared it isn't enough. I am worried that the AAMC FLs aren't accurate of my actual scoring position because I've taken them in the past (although that was 1-2 years ago). I am hoping to get a 505+ this time. Any thoughts?

Other numbers, if you are curious:

Section Bank Volume 1

  • Overall Score: 58%
  • Psych/Soc: 70%
  • Chem/Phys: 54%
  • Bio/Biochem: 49%

Section Bank Volume 2

  • Overall Score: 55%
  • Psych/Soc: 68%
  • Chem/Phys: 48%
  • Bio/Biochem: 49%
