i finally got a job after 12 months of searching
got a job as a data scientist, the market is so saturated rn. i had been out of a corporate job for nearly 4 years before this. i got a friend who has a startup to put me on their payroll to remove any career breaks. that’s a big red flag for some reason. in one case, i had made it through 1st round of interview and had hr call me and say they can’t move forward because of the gap. i mean, what if i was upskilling and building projects on my own? portal referrals don’t really work either. if you have a friend who’s working, have them reach out to the the relevant hiring manager for an open role and send your cv
