Visiting Rio - need recommendations

Hello! I am visiting Rio this month! I’m from London and have a bunch of questions.
While I have googled most of these, I’d also like to hear from real people ☺️

  1. Should I bring mosquito spray from my home country or buy some in Rio? (Are the mosquitos here “stronger”)

  2. Is contactless available everywhere or should I have some cash? (I have a Monzo account which is Mastercard)

  3. Is there a trusted/local app for taxis/cabs? (Or is Uber the norm)

  4. Is there a better local version of Google maps? (People in London swear by Citymapper for instance)

  5. Any recommendations for a good tour of Tijuca? (Really want to see some waterfalls)

  6. Favourite coffee and/or breakfast place in Leblon?

  7. Favourite small/unusual museum?

  8. I’m planning on visiting the botanical garden, what are some of your favourite spots there?

Thanks!
