Nile HG craniology

Nile HG craniology

Thoughts on this?

Why would pre Neolithic Nile valley skulls be very negroid looking? Could IBMs cro-magnon features be the result of a lack of samples. I’d imagine IBM and Nile HG would either be genetically identical or Nile valley is more W.E shifted.

I also think we’re underestimating the amount of southern Levant PPNB that entered the Nile. In one of his previous tweets he said they flooded it(no pun intended).

Dzudzuana related population that contributed their west Eurasian ancestry to paleolithic North Africa.

Until recently I had mistakenly believed it was the Kebarans that expanded into North Africa to form populations like the Iberomaurisians and the Egyptian Hunter Gatherers.
Kebarans only formed around 23000 years ago. The earliest IBM sites date back 25000 years ago.

IBMs were described as having cro-Magnid like skulls. IBMs were tall, had large cranial sizes and very robust physical statures with very high levels of sexual dimorphism. None of this sounds like Kebaran influence.
What population do you think brought Paleolithic north africas west Eurasian ancestry into the region? U/emotion… (can’t remember your name, sorry) showed me a G25 model where you can model IBMs with a small chunk of gravettian ancestry on top of Dzudzuana ancestry. Materially it lines up because of the similarity in tool kits but I don’t see how gravettians cross the Mediterranean into Africa.
Maybe Levantine Aurignacian? I barely know anything about them. They were in the Levant before the Kebarans but I don’t know what their genetics consisted of.

One more small question, do you think they were more or less basal Eurasian than Dzudzuana. Most academics put basal eurasians homeland around the gulf area. If Dzudzuana first pops up around 30000 years ago and their related ancestry reaches the furthest corner of North Africa 5000 years later I’d imagine they didn’t stay around the gulf too long to pick up anymore B.E ancestry.

Lack of Women’s Rights and Overall quality of Genepool in the horn.

It’s kind of a touchy subject but I thought I’d still ask because I’m curious on everyone’s thoughts and this is a genetics and culture subreddit on the horn.

How do you think the lack of women’s rights have affected the growth of the entire Horn of Africa.

You look at the not only the state of the region today but also the past and you see child marriage being the norm with girls as young as 8 sold off into marriage, widespread Female Genital Mutilation
across the region and even type 3 being practiced with those practicing the Islamic faith and practices such as Telefa still being practiced in rural areas where girls as young as 10 are kidnapped and raped with the intention of getting them pregnant to secure a marriage.

You look at other regions of the world where historically only around 20%-30% of men reproduced.
I can’t begin to imagine the number in the horn, especially when you can just buy a little girl off her parents or kidnap one to secure a marriage.

Historically, if women actually had a say in who’d they would’ve married how different do you think the region would be?
Do you feel a lot of people have reproduced that should’ve had no right to?

Can someone explain agaw ethnogenesis to me?

I’ve been scrolling through G25 plots and every one I look at Agaws cluster right there with other ethio-semites and have around 20-22% Semitic related ancestry.
Everytime you hear someone talk about population history in the horn they’ll say rthiosemites are 75% Agaw and 25% Semitic . Am I the only one that just doesn’t understand that. If that was true then wouldn’t there be a lot of genetic difference between agews and ethiosemites. They have near identical Neolithic Splits though.

The only counter I’ve read is because of intermixing with ethiosemites which is kind of funny. How do you mix with a group and end up with nearly the same amount of Semitic related ancestry. Something ain’t adding up.

The haplogroup spreads are also very similar with agaws averaging around 22% J in a study of 257 people.
Is it just agews getting hit with the protosemetic wave but retaining their Cushitic language?

I’ve read that proto agews worshipped some sort of Proto Hebraic Religion so they were definitely influenced by semites.

Ancestral North African?

They’re definitely the most confusing ancient African population so I kind of want to know as much as possible.

How far shifted are they compared to other paleolithic african populations? I understand they diverged relatively early from the movement out of Africa but looking at IBMs G25 plot they still very clearly get read like African ancestry, just a slightly more Eurasian shifted version. Does anyone have a simulated ANA G25 Plot comparing them to other Palaeolithic pops in Africa?

Do you think they had ancestry from populations like the Aterians? I know they lived way way way before them but where could they have possibly gone, they were isolated in north west Africa. The only other possibility seems to be extinction.

This ties to my other question but is it basically confirmed they were haplogroup E. The reason I’m asking this is because DE is supposedly Eurasian in origin but E is found almost exclusively in Africa with many putting its origin in the horn. What are the chances Kebaran brought in E? And if not why do people put its origin in AEA/AWA related peoples when Ancestral North Africans clearly don’t descend from them? Maybe ANA does have East / West African related ancestry.

Villa value rogers at £130M

According to MattLawDT Villa value him at 130 million. He works for the telegraph so I’d imagine he’s fairly reliable.
It does make sense though. Villa are a consistent Europe qualifying team. He’s their best player. He’s 23. He’s got 4 years left on his contract. He was never going to be £85M as others were saying.

Should we move on from him? I still have no idea where teta wants to play him if he does sign. He isn’t a winger, even when he’s placed outside he always drifts centrally.
Barcola wants out of PSG, Vini hasn’t renewed his contracts. Kinda feels like there’s better options.

NubianA and Khartoum Neo

I’ve been searching for characteristics of the khartoum Neolithic and it’s been scarce.

The only thing I could find is that it’s the introduction of pastorialism into the region. They also brought domesticated goats and sheep.

I couldn’t find if they were west Eurasian, SSH or a mix between the 2.

They also existed before Nubian A group so if we find out they are admixed there’s a good chance this is proto-Cushitic and Nubian a group has nothing to do with the horn.

Well the only guarantee is that Eurasian ancestry couldn’t have reached Sudan earlier than 4900 BC.

Odegaard Leaving? Potential Replacements

Journalists like Sami Mohkbel have been hinting at it and now a Hand of Arsenal Retweet basically confirms that he could potentially be on his way out.

Don’t know what to feel. Can you even replace Odegaard. His skill set feels so unique in the current attacking midfielder market. Who can we get that improves the number 10 role. I made a jokey post about Olise before but that was obviously a massive reach.

I have no idea where Arteta wants to play Rogers, he offers a completely new skill set in the attack, carrying the ball in transition and using his physicality to shrug players off. But who’s going to replace odegaards creativity, I haven’t watched any of Nico Paz but I hear he’s the second best youngster in the serie A and Madrid are looking to sell him.

This may be a worse shout than my previous Olise post but what are the chances we can steal Bruno Fernandes off of United. He’s 31 years old with only a carabao cup and an FA cup to his name. Uniteds team is bang average and they aren’t going to be competing for anything in the next few seasons. He definitely wants to compete for the big boy trophies. He’s got 1 year left on his contract and I want revenge for the Van Persie transfer. He’s the best creative midfielder in the prem and he deserves a major trophy that we can get him. He was also treated like shit at United, last season they wanted to sell him and this season United legends have been ganging up on him after breaking the assist record.

What do you think?

Olise

I’m hearing we’re linked with players like Rogers and Barcola and yeah they’re great players that would elevate our attack but why aren’t we trying to sign world class players. I’m not saying Olise would come to us but to not even be linked when Liverpool and Madrid are trying to go after him.

He’s from Hammersmith, was at the Arsenal Academy for a short while, is close mates with Eze and you can’t convince me he wants to stay in the German League for the rest of his career.

Arsenal are the richest club in the richest league. We can pay what Madrid are trying to pay and our wage bill to revenue is one of the lowest out of the big 6. Odegaard is 28 and has just come off 2 bad seasons in a row. He’s an instant upgrade on the creative midfielder role. We need to start thinking like a big club.

Would you say this is what the 2 main components in horners looked like.

First is skhirat as the ethio-somali component.

Second is Wedi Halfa as the currently unidentified African compenent of horners. They lived in northern Sudan so it does look like a good spot for where the African admix of cushites may have come from. All we need is DNA sampling. They definitely don’t look nilotic or Hadza/Mota related. Kind of look like their own thing. In fact I see some resemblance in the purer cushites of somali and southern oromos than I do in west Africans, Bantu’s or nilotes.

I was gonna add a south arabian one but you can just search that up online and I was also kind of unsure if they looked like arabs or the mehri who are much darker.

Any Pre Cushitic Cultures in the Red Sea Hills?

It’s kind of leaning towards cushites forming in the Red Sea hills so I was asking if there were any pre Eurasian cultures there. It’s kind of hard to wrap my head around an African culture existing on the shores of the Red Sea considering that area wasn’t affected by the green Sahara so im sure it was still a desert, but the African ancestry in cushites had to have been there though considering that’s where cushites began.

The only African samples I know of are Wedi Halfa and the leiterband peoples but they lived along the Nile, nowhere near the shores.

Another thing I wanted to know was is our Nilotic related ancestry inflated because the ethio-somali component had a larger share of ANA ancestry so is using natufian instead of ethiosomali overestimating how much Nile African we have.

Sigma Master Ninja Runs

Hello, I’ve just about dragged myself across the finish line with the very hard difficulty on sigma and I’m about to start my master ninja runs.

I was just wondering how they’re recorded and where to make the right saves.
After a missions finished should I quickly sprint to the checkpoint so it doesn’t affect the time consumed for the next mission. After I get master ninja rank on one mission is that mission completely done no matter what playthrough it is.

One other thing is how does dying affect the ranking. I’m gonna be honest there’s zero chance I can go through an entire chapter on master ninja difficulty and not die, so I’d imaging dying and reloading a save doesn’t affect the ranking, I hope.

If anyone’s also got any tips for master ninja it would be lovely. I have got the grip of murder costume along with the azure helmet.
