Any suggestions for neighborhoods, events, bars, etc.?

I'm craving the company and inspiration of other artists!

I'm an architect by education, a general contractor by profession, hobbyist sculptor and trying to incorporate electronics and movement into my art (think Olafur Eliasson, Reuben Margolin, Daniel Rozin).

Not new to the area. I've stayed in Upper East Side, Hell's Kichen, and went to college in upstate. I'm from the SF Bay Area and haven't been to NY in over 10 years--I imagine things have changed!

I literally came to leave the group and saw plenty of non-NSFW posts with interesting questions, but they dont make it to my feed. =[
