Xtina should have at least won a Grammy for 'You Lost Me' in Bionic era
As I've been dying for Xtina's new music recently, I kept revisiting the ups and downs of her career, and found something interesting want to talk about:
We all know Xtina is a Recording Academy favorite because of her monstrous vocal ability. Unlike Britney or Gaga, she had 'never' locked down General Field awards (I'm saying Record of the Year or Song of the Year) but consistently swept Best something Vocal Performance. The Grammys used to value her sheer technical ability over how high her songs charted.
She got 2 nominations in Liberation era and lost, I can live with that cuz those weren't her best work
So my question is, why was Bionic completely paid dust in 2011?
I know the album underperformed commercially, but "You Lost Me" has some of the best vocals of her entire career. However the whole album get 0 nominations, which is insane, and Katy Perry managed to squeeze into the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance category with "Teenage Dream"? (I'm stating facts, no shade to Katy)
Also, Lady Gaga ended up winning that year with "Bad Romance".
Well deserved among the nominees(I think we could leave that to the judges if fairness existed), but not if Xtina was in(in my humble opinion)
well, at least it deserved some nominations? seriously it was her vocal prime
