First Patricia McKillip book

I am thinking of reading my first Patricia McKillip book, but I am definitely in a particular mode right now where I want something abundantly positive: nothing or no one who would be considered evil, no trauma or tragedy.

Does she have such a book? I was thinking The Bell at Sealey Head, would that qualify??

Established Planes You Want to See?

Now that we have Zhalfir scheduled, I'm wondering what already established planes that haven't had sets you most want to see?

For me, it is the windy plane if Belenon. Its cards fascinate me, and I would love to see a set where wind is a huge part of the theme. It would be a perfect set to bring back Flagbearers and Verse counters.

Music and musical instruments could be a big part too. Make interesting equipment.

Recommend: Fiction rich in fantasy folklore

I am looking to read a fictional book in which the fictional world has its own folklore and mythos. However, I have a few rules:

  1. I don't want the folklore/mythos to be any actual real world folklore/mythos. No Greek gods, Paul Bunyan, etc. The folklore itself must be fictional.

  2. I don't want the folklore really relevant to the plot or characters. So, no legend of a hero, and then we find out one of the characters is that hero. Or, no legend/folklore that triggers the characters to go on a quest. It should just be background world development stuff, not pivotal.

I have heard Watership Down has something like this. For anyone who has read it, is that true?

Can you recommend more books that have this? Bonus points if they aren't high fantasy.
