A little rant or whatever

I keep seeing and hearing about layoffs, especially affecting people who've been with the company for around 6-8 months I've been here for 7 months, so I can't help but feel anxious. I honestly don't know what to expect, and I'm worried I could lose my job.

Standard hour question

My standard hours are 20 hours a week, and I usually work 3 hour shifts unless I pick up an extra hour of VET for crash. I picked up an extra shift for Monday, so by Thursday I'll be at 19 hours. If I end up going over my 20 standard hours, will I get in trouble? Also, has anyone had any luck getting HR or site leadership to increase their standard hours? If so, how did you ask?

How can you tell if a site is overstaffed or understaffed and might start cutting people?

I’m just curious how do sites usually deal with being under or overstaffed? I’m trying to be prepare in case I need to start looking elsewhere

First Prime

It’s my first Prime and honestly, it wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be way more chaotic and messy. Not complaining though at least I didn’t have to overwork myself since I’m part time. I praying for full time hours soon 🙏🏻
My prayers go out to everyone on mandatory SET. I hope you all survive it!

We all know Prime is wrapping up next week, I know volume will probably start slowing down. My question is do we start seeing VET again like we did after Peak?

I also have a few concerns, especially about possible layoffs and not being able to pick up enough VET hours. For those who have been through this before, what usually happens after Prime? I’ve been here for almost 7 months now what are my chances of staying?

Those of us that started six months ago and are still wb. How are we doing?

So unfortunately, I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to convert this round, but I’m praying next time I do, God willing. I’m trying so hard not to crash out because I’m honestly tired of the uncertainty of not knowing if I’ll have a job next week or next month.

With Prime Week coming up, how is everyone feeling? Personally, I’m not ready at all. But I keep reminding myself that if I want that bb, I need to keep working hard. And even if I don’t get converted, at least I gained experience to put on my resume.

I also wanted to ask those of you who got converted after a year or longer is it worth the wait? Should I keep holding on? I’m thinking about getting a second job as a backup plan. I really want to keep this job, but I also have to be realistic and have a plan B

I just hope all of us seasonal employees get our bb soon. 🤞💙

Prime week schedule morning shift

For those of us on the morning shift, has anyone gotten any information about Prime Week schedules? I received my schedule, but it’s the same no one has explained anything. My usual shift is 8:50AM-11:50 AM, and I’m not sure if we’re expected to pick up extra shifts or if additional hours will be added automatically. I’m pretty confused. Also, are we allowed to clock in a few minutes early during Prime Week? Someone please explain 🫩🙏🏻

How can I get this corrected?

I work part time and usually only work 3–4 hours Because of that, I normally don't get lunch breaks. I pick up VET when I can which adds an extra hour or three

Today was extremely busy, and I ended up working more than five hours. I had no idea I was supposed to take a lunch break. Since we were so busy, it wasn't even on my mind. Later, when I checked my AtoZ app to look at my UPT and hours worked, I noticed an issue under my work schedule.
I wanted to know if there's a way to fix this.

I understand I might lose an hour of pay because of the missed lunch, but I really need every minute that I worked to be paid. It feels unfair because I wasn't informed by the managers that I needed to take a lunch break.

Has anyone dealt with this before or knows how I can get it corrected?

Does it happen twice a year?

Reposting because people were more focused on arguing than actually answering my question. If you’re not going to be helpful, please just keep scrolling.

Anyway, today I misheard one of my PAs talking about converting ppl this week. My site converted ppl about 6 months ago, so that would make two within a year. I’ve also heard rumors that conversions only happen twice a year, but I’m not sure if that’s true.

I’m feeling a little overwhelmed, so I just wanted to ask is it true that conversions only happen twice a year? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

No VET

Has anyone else’s site not dropped any VET for this weekend? My site hasn’t dropped any, I just wanted to see if it’s the same for everyone else. Is it usually this slow before Prime starts?

How long did it take you to switch pt to ft?

Looking for advice. I’m almost 6 months in and have been working part time about 3–4 hours and honestly I’m getting a little frustrated because I really wish I had ft hours. A lot of people at my site have told me it took them anywhere from 6 months to a year to get bb, and I feel like I can’t wait that long. I’m in my mid-20s and really need the benefits so I can go back to school because I can’t afford college right now.

I’ve started applying to other places because I can’t survive off $200–300 checks. I’m grateful for the income, but I really need ft hours, and with how the job market is right now, finding a second job doesn’t seem very promising either.

I see new hires every day, so getting bb seems impossible. so my question to anyone reading this do I wait or should I continue submitting applications to other places? And those with a second job how do you manage both jobs?

I honestly feel like my manager, leadership, A.M.s, and P.M.s dislike me. I feel like I’m treated differently from everyone else, and there have been a lot of situations that made me feel that way. I’m a quiet person and I come in to do my work. I may not be the fastest associate, but I still make sure my work gets done properly and on time.

During pick and stage, whenever I walk toward a cluster, it feels like leadership either leaves or watches me from afar. I can also hear them talking over their speakers sometimes, and it makes me overthink everything.

Today I decided to stay for crash, and while managers usually let everyone choose their own aisle to start stowing, I’m almost always sent to the same aisle that nobody likes. We’re also usually paired up, but they constantly ask my partner to move to another section, and they never come back. After a while, it really starts to feel personal and it’s making me feel like they hate me.

Apparently seasonal employees have contracts, I had no idea. I was told mine could last anywhere from 3 to 11 months depending on business needs. I’ve been at my current site for 5 months, and no one ever mentioned anything about a contract, I’ll never get my bb 😓
