Extending house Dublin
Hoping to get a better understanding of what I could potentially getting into. My wife and I have decided to extend our dormer bungalow, about 18m2 downstairs and adding a bedroom upstairs which will involve adding roofing for this also. I’d say maximum 30m2 up and down but could be less. We have contacted a few architects to get the ball rolling as we will need planning permission. I have a budget here but it’s very difficult to know the prices I’ll be quoted in this current market. I’m just generally looking for advice for anyone who extending recently. Did you get a quantity surveyor involved? Did you contact builder before architect or would you have any builder/contractor in mind? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
