Self-identified incels, what do you think about people being scared of you?
So I noticed a trend where when I express concern about incels, there's a lot of them who will get extremely upset and claim they don't deserve to be mistreated or viewed differently just because they haven't had sex. But I want to make a distinction here, that most people don't see "incels" as equal to "Virgin against your will" but part of a specific subgroup with specific ideals. Not everyone who wants to lose their virginity and is struggling identifies with the label*.*
Over and over i'm told I should have compassion for these dudes but I'm mostly frightened of them. It's not an abnormal day to see one of the members saying extremely concerning things online like "Hypergafoids should be socially isolated" or uplifting shooters as heroic sources of "copium."
I also get tons of people accusing me of cherry-picking, how it's a small percentage of incels who do stuff like this, that it's just memes or jokes...
This is real violence against innocent people, justified and promoted with violent misogyny. The community is actively monitored by Governments for violent attacks and it's not to use you as a red herring, not when real attacks happen all the time. Two attacks happened in march with direct links to the ideology, one in may.
So to restate and clarify my question, for self-identified incels, do you understand why people are frightened of you? Do you care? If you're trying to "ascend" do you think being a part of this community will help you?
If you want my advice, it's to disassociate with the label completely. Being celibate for a large portion of your life is normal, especially in the modern age. Feeling lonely and undesirable is something worth addressing but stewing in these bitter communities where your only friendships are formed through mutual misery isn't going to do anything good for you. Seek therapy and positive sources of platonic relationships.
