What can or should I do?
First time beardie owner. I have only had him for a couple weeks so I’m not sure what his “normal” behavior is but he has recently not been moving to his heat perch after morning lights come on. He just lays under his rock or in his hide. After a couple hours I will get him up to warm him and put him on his perch. He will lay there, warm up and then eat normally but it’s freaking me out. My husband says I’m over reacting but I don’t want to fail him. He has the right lighting and temps are good. I feed him his greens with some veggies along with crickets, roaches, calcigrubs (bfl) along with an occasional tiny hornworm. I shake his bugs and worms in calcium powder and once a week in calcium powder with D3. He’s obviously shedding so I’m not sure if this is a side effect from shedding or signs of something more. How long do they go through the shedding process? Is there anything I can do to help him?
