So far I had two unsuccessful interviews out of 20 job applications I submitted. Every time I get unsuccessful email or calls, I can’t help but be sad. I know it doesn’t help my situation but it is really frustrating to put yourself out there, you think you did your best, but it is just not meant for you.

To everyone who is looking for a job, here’s to not losing hope and motivation! Hopefully in the next coming days or weeks, we get that positive call 🥂

I had an interview yesterday and I think the initial chat went okay. I was really nervous at first, but the interviewer actually made me feel comfortable. She laughed with me, asked some personal questions, and the conversation felt more relaxed than I expected, which helped because I get really anxious during interviews.

Now I’m overthinking everything after the interview lol. The role is newly created, so they said they don’t really have a fixed salary range yet because it depends on the budget they end up allocating for the position.

When they asked for my salary expectation, I gave a number, but now I’m stressing thinking maybe I asked for too much or maybe I didn’t do as well as I thought. I genuinely can’t tell if the interview went well or if they were just being nice.

Anyone else spiral like this after interviews? 😭

I’m based in Perth working in mining as Machine Learning engineer and have been thinking about starting something around AI in this space.

I did all necessary checks and references the same week.

After this stage, how long do they update you?
I know it hasn’t been a week that passed yet, but wanted to know the expectation of progress when dealing with recruitment agency.
