Mixing Systems
Mixing multiple TTRPG systems together for a home game used to be very common (10+ years ago) and likely is more so now with how prevalent so many TTRPGs and ease of digital access is. I'm curious about people's experiences on three main ways of doing this:
The basic form - leveraging mechanics from one system into another. Example: Using Blades in the dark Clocks in Pathfinder 2e.
The Multi-Stack form - using multiple systems depending on context. Example: Using Reign 2e's faction mechanics with Pathfinder 1e to play the Kingmaker adventure path.
The Session-Admixture form - using multiple systems in the same setting for the same storyline/campaign and sometimes characters. Example: Using CBR+PNK to run a heist in a cyberpunk city run by Lancer mech pilots outside of their Mechs or using the Varsity TTRPG for an sports arena mini game session during a d&d 4e game.
