What is with the obsession of listening to podcasts or audiobooks on 2x or 3x speed?
I know a few "productivity" focused people who proudly claim they digest books and 3-hour podcasts in half the time by speeding them up. I tried it once, and it just sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks having a panic attack.
They say it's to "maximize information intake," but are you actually retaining anything when your brain is sprinting just to catch the words? Call me old-fashioned, but doesn't that completely ruin the pacing, the tone, and the actual enjoyment of learning something? Am I missing a genuine benefit here?
