Mobility Scooter Range
Hello all! I recently received a mobility scooter (Pride Victory 9, 3 wheel) from an organization that refurbs medical equipment. The batteries were replaced by them in December, I received the scooter in February. Due to weather, I've been unable to take it out much until recently. I don't really understand all the battery lingo, but I do know the battery gauge is a voltmeter. The battery says
"MK Powered Gel
Type No.
MU-1 SLD G
12V27Ah C/5
12v32Ah C/20
9/25"
Today I took my scooter out to an event in down and tracked where we went. We traveled just about 7 miles on relatively flat pavement, with the speed turned way down at the event. I was barely able to limp it back to my house. I weigh about 255lbs and know this is a big factor in battery life. With the above specs does this sound right, or might something be wrong with my scooter causing extra power drain? Do they make higher capacity batteries I could get? What should I be looking for? The only extra thing my scooter had was a cane holder in the accessory hitch to hold my lightweight cane. I specifically wanted to go as lightweight as possible so we could stretch the battery as far as we could. Thank you in advance for any advice!
