Asymmetrical Strength Help??
I just started weight training recently and have stumbled across an issue. I've been working from the ground up more-or-less: never did sports or anything fitness related before this point. However, I do play an instrument and practice it regularly (cellist, right bow arm) and have for over a decade.
This makes it so that certain major muscle groups in my arms are severely disjointed in their strength. My right arm and shoulder is much stronger overall than my left. It's also very visible (especially in the traps: left shoulder has nothing whereas the right is sizeably sloped). But more than anything, whenever I have to use both arms for an exercise, my left gives long before my right in most cases.
My question (TLDR) is this: how do I fix having a significantly stronger right arm? Is the way forward to do more reps/sets with my left, or will it eventually level out on its own? Also any advice for beginners is welcome, but I'm fishing for this.
I have access to small dumbbells but nothing else as it stands, if that helps.
