White robes
Hi I don't usually post on reddit but trying to find some answers, (dont know if this is important context, but im from the UK.) My great-grandfather was a free mason, he died just before I was born and this never came up in conversation once until a few years ago when my mum was talking about his funeral.
She was talking about how there was an open casket and he was wearing white robes, and that is when she told me he was a freemason. I had no idea what this was and I was talking to my boyfriend about it who's mum is big into conspiracies, and he said he could have been quite high up in freemasonry. He was about 75(?) when he passed and my mums persistence on the white robes made me question if he was. Thanks for any help :)
EDIT: Thank-you for all of the replies, I now have more questions then when I started lol. I'll be discussing more with my mum and seeing what she meant, I'm thinking that the information she gave me was pretty skewed, then again it was like 20 years ago. But anyways thanks for your help, I do find this interesting and thankyou for your time :)
