A classic ride by way of a Highlander HGN-732b, the Royal variant of this notable chassis.
I have always enjoyed painting object source lighting, so this one was a treat to work on.

The last miniatures I'll be working on for a while.
Currently conducting my cross-country move, and these were the last batch I finished prior to packing my life up.
This is a demi-company of SLDF as part of the Third Star League. While the Master Unit List for the faction in this era hasnt been fully ironed out yet, I kept my unit choices limited Inner Sphere General and Republic Of The Sphere listings for Late Republic and ilClan eras. My thoughts here being that SLDF would, broadly speaking, have access to any IS General listings as well as any remaining Republic hardware.
I added in the Highlander HGN-732b Royal variant as it is a classic that just belongs in the SLDF, no matter what era.
What do you think? Individual shots incoming over the next week.
The newest painting guide is up! This one covers a topic I have been asked fervently to cover, so here you are!
By popular demand, this video covers Sky-Earth Non-Metallic Metal, or SENMM. This is effectively how to create a finish that looks quasi-mirror-like with reflection colors or imagery. There are a number of means and methods by which you can create this look, but this is primarily how I achieve mine.
This is a one-take painting guide, meaning there is no editing to the procedural video, so you get every brush stroke, the good and the bad, and get to see how long this takes from start to finish.
I hope you folks enjoy! Link to the video will be in the comments.

My latest painting guide is up as a collaboration between my personal channel and CamoSpecs Online.

In this video I do a comprehensive overview of how I achieve my red armor that you see here.

A fun basing element I used from Death Ray Designs.

This is on my Iron Cheetah's base. Speaking of which, tomorrow my latest video tutorial drops, and it covers my red armor process.

Ares Apollo SuperHeavy OmniMech - Third Battalion - First Star Guards - Star League Defense Force, circa 3152

This was a fun piece to work on, and ultimately is the starting point for a Third Star League force I am cobbling together.

This thing weighs over half a pound and was definitely awkward to paint. I magnetized the torso so it can be removed from the bottom half for ease of painting and ultimately storage, as well as spin freely on the chassis, because reasons. I contemplated magnetizing other pieces, but opted not to.

Third Battalion of First Star Guards is a subunit that specializes in combined arms tactics, and being that I am a major fan of combined arms in the tabletop context, I figured they would be a good unit to work on.

There are no decals as of yet for the First Star Guards, so I had to freehand the insignia. Overall, I am happy with how it came out. For those curious, ilKhan's Eyes Only has all the deets for the new major unit formations of the SLDF.

Some more work-in-progress on this Ares Apollo SuperHeavy Tripod OmniMech.
This particular beast will be the starting point for some Third Star League forces, specifically the Third Battalion of the First Star Guards. The basing on this guy isn't what I will be using for a number of my follow-on forces as this was initially intended to be for a FedSuns force I had been building, but ultimately that desire changed.
I settled on Third Battalion of First Star Guards as they are notably adept at combined arms operations, and I'm a huge proponent of combined arms gameplay, so this was a natural route for me to take.
In the end my intent is to have this base somewhat resemble the terrain of the Tourmaline Desert map from MechWarrior Online.
One thing that isn't easily discernible from the photos is that I have magnetized the torso to spin freely on the lower half, for fun, as well as practical storage capabilities.
What do you think so far?
My humble Mad Cat Mk II that I am adding into my Sigma Galaxy Nova Cats.
This is a pre-production prototype print of the new sculpt from Catalyst Game Labs that will be included within the new Core Box set, along with the Rakshasa and a number of other notable popular chassis designs.
This is my favorite BattleMech design in-universe by far. I grew up loving this 'Mech as I am a child of the early 90's, and grew up playing the MechWarrior 4 franchise. This, the Shadow Cat, Uziel, Nova Cat, and the Vulture design that would later come to be more recognized canonically as the Mk III all hold a special place in my heart. But, the Mad Cat Mk II takes rhe crown above all others. I have painted every officially licensed sculpt of the Mad Cat Mk II, and will from now unto eternity.
This one is my favorite, for sure, but I really hope that the Mad Cat Mk II Enhanced gets a new reaculpt as I feel the current iteration is quite lacking when compared to the awesomeness of the line art. Anthony Scroggins, HEAR ME.
ANYWHO, I hope you folks enjoy!
What is your favorite part about this mini and the paint job?
