How to get started in boxing/kickboxing for exercise or maybe a fight in the future? / Best ways to find a trainer?
Hello!
I am new to the whole idea of boxing/ kickboxing (32F) for exercise but maybe I would like to have a fight in future (not professional but sparring I guess. lol). The situation currently is that I have a lot of suppressed anger and I am really stressed overall. I am out of shape but feel this is my best option to relieve my anger and stress, at least physically. lol. I also have lots of questions, would anyone mind answering them? I like the thought of having to sparr or have a practice/training fight in the future, if I had a trainer, would they help me with that? As far as gear, I have MMA hand wraps ( the one with the knuckle cushins) and I have regular hand wraps. I don't want to buy boxing gloves yet until I borrow the pair in my training session or class so I know how they feel on me. Does anyone have tips they can give me on how to start? Or share a story of how they started? Can I just go to the gym with a punching bag to punch the bag? Would I have to be afraid of looking dumb if I just did that? Should I try to invest in a trainer? How do you find good trainers or boxing gyms? Will a boxing trainer also expect a diet plan or is that for a fitness coach? - Thank you for your advice. ☺️
