Final onsite scheduling dilemma?

I’m a new grad candidate for a role at a tech company. I recently passed the technical screens and was invited to an onsite final panel. The panel is multiple 1-hour interviews and would require travel.

The recruiter indicated that the team is actively scheduling interviews and asked for my earliest availability starting next week. My original plan was to schedule it for the following week (so after next week) so I could have more time to prepare.

My question: in final-round recruiting, how much does timing matter? If I schedule for the following week instead of next week, could that hurt me because they are already interviewing other candidates? Or is it better to take the extra time and go in more prepared?

would really appreciate advice cuz i'm a bit lost on what to do.
