Halara skirt rec
I've been trying a few different brands lately (Athleta, Old Navy, Zara, and now Halara), and I finally wore this white skirt from Halara today.
My biggest concern with white skirts is always the same, are they see-through, do they wrinkle easily, and are they comfortable? This one surprised me. The fabric is soft with a bit of stretch, it felt secure around the waist without digging in, and I didn't have to keep adjusting it while walking. Compared to Zara, the material feels more forgiving and comfortable, and compared to some of my Old Navy skirts, it looks a little more polished. I still think Athleta has the edge if you're looking for premium technical fabrics, but for casual everyday wear I think Halara offers really good value.
I've only worn it once, so I can't speak to long term durability yet, but my first impression has been really positive.
If you're placing an order over $150, they're currently offering 15% off with code "REDDIT2026".
Which are the best Halara work pants for teachers?
I'm a teacher and on my feet all day, so I'm looking for comfortable but professional-looking work pants from Halara. I've seen a lot of praise for Halara work pants in teacher-related subreddits, but I haven't found many discussions comparing the different models. I'd love to hear which ones hold up the best, stay comfortable through a full school day, and are worth buying.
Any tips on growing organic bean sprouts at home without needing special equipment?
I’ve been playing with bean sprouts this week, and wanted to open a discussion for us sprout lovers. Care to share your favourite tips for keeping them crispy but mold-free in humid weather? Which beans do you think have the best crunch factor for stir fries vs salads raw; mung, soybean or lentils? Has anyone tried making a something simple to rinse them, like a little automatic machine (using parts from alibaba for example) or something else that eliminates the need to rinse daily? Do sprouts lose their flavor if you leave them in the dark longer? Any affect on nutrition? I’ve seen some cool sprouting set ups using recycled plastic bottles, and cheesecloth, but they can be a bit finicky. What do you think of adding a drop of hydrogen peroxide to the rinse water?
