Moving to Wuppertal soon, looking for some advice! ^^
Hi everyone!!
I'll most likely be moving to Wuppertal in the near future, and I had a few questions about what it's like living there as a foreigner. I'm from Poland, so although moving to Germany won't be a huge cultural leap, it'll still be a completely new environment for me.
I'm a teenager and I'll still be learning German when I move. I'm definitely planning to improve it, but at first I'll probably have to rely on English quite a bit. Is English generally enough to get by, especially with people my age? (15-18)
One thing I'm a bit worried about is making friends. I won't be attending a German school, so I won't really have that "easy" way of meeting people. Are there any clubs, sports, hobby groups, youth centers, or other places where teenagers usually meet? Are they generally welcoming to newcomers?
I'm also curious about what there is to do in the city. Are there any festivals, local events, markets, concerts, or other activities that are worth checking out throughout the year?
And finally, how are foreigners generally viewed in Wuppertal? I know every individual is different, but I'm interested in hearing people's overall experiences!!
