Advice for rear rack with carbon forks
Hey all, I’ll start by saying I am very new to bikepacking so apologies if some things may be obvious.
I am planning about a week long trip on my dad’s old road bike and I have panniers I would ideally like to set up on the rear of the bike. I am figuring out how to best set up the bike to fit all the camping gear, but I’m running into a problem since my bike doesn’t have upper eyelets to put a rear rack on. I’ve read that it’s a bit more complicated since the forks are carbon and I was planning on putting most of the weight within the panniers. I’ve attached some photos which will hopefully help explain what I’m working with.
Any advice on the best route for setting up a rack would be great! That said, I’m on a bit of a budget so hopefully the solution isn’t too pricey. Thanks!
