This is becoming one of my favourite manhwa ever. The art may not be eye candy but the story is so human. Genuinely some of the best writing I ever read on a Murim série and I have been reading since 2017.
This had me strapped all night reading a Murim manwha with barely any fights, that's a feat in on itself.

This is gonna be a controversial one cause how dare I accuse our beloved marabouts of charlatanism? Right?
I only met one of them and I won't say it's all of them but I mean...
So my mom took me yesterday to her shrink, guy sheet heard about from the internet and all (lots of testimonial videos and shit) to heal me from my ails. I went along with it because hey it's my mom and I am very interested in the industry of marabouts also.
So we arrived at the house, the amount of people was crazy, genuinely crazy. Like a 120 people easy. Big Bodyguard at the door reading names from the list and giving out tickets.
At first I was shocked by how many sick people were there. At least 15 were in wheelchairs, others had crutches, some could barely walk and needed immediate medical attention.
So I turn comes up. We get our ticket. Mind you we arrived at 8:45 and we received ours at about 10:00.
We go inside, no place to sit down, full af, hot as shit yo while knowing that most of his customer base is sick people smh.
I go stand on a random corner and I start noticing this smell. It was an awful, organic smell of something that was not supposed to come from a human being. If you have been in a hospital ward long enough you surely have smelled it somewhere. It was sepsis or tissue necrosis. That person had no business seeing anyone but a doctor but I digress.
The thing that shocked me the most was the attire of the staff. Yes the marabout had a full staff, about 10 people including 2 guards, and they were all dressed in medical scrubs. If I just passed by there I would have thought it was a legitimate clinic. I have no problem with the existence of marabouts, people need to believe in something sometimes but dressed in medical scrubs and cosplaying genuine doctors?? Hell no.
The wait was long as hell, tiring also. The only form of entertainment was videos displayed on a big flat screen tv about the marabout being interviewed by a Big and tall comedian... But one thing I noticed from the interviews and promotional materials was that the marabout never spoke much and whenever he spoke, it was just him spewing nonsense (genuinely, y'all have to see it to believe it). The interviews were mostly testimonial videos of former patients that guarantees that this guy can do anything: get you a visa, heal illnesses, mental health issues, hell this guy can even **cure Diabetes** bruh, **DIABETES...**
My turn came in, the consultation fee was 20.000f. I paid it even tho it was steep. I met the marabout around 21:30. We speak for 5 minutes, I explain to him my problems, he starts talking shit like "bayyil lale thi khalei yii" irrelevant shit, pull out 4 random sheets of preprinted prayer papers from a big stack dispersed on his desk and he writes me a **prescription**. He gives it to one of his employees and we come out to check on that. We see the employee and his says:
\- this one you drink it every day for 5 days aside from Friday
\- this one you bathe in it for 5 days aside from Friday
And so on for the other two papers. He finishes speaking then he folds the papers, puts it away from us and says:
\- that's gonna be 60.000 for the papers and prescription.
I was like oh hell no in my mind but my mom paid for that and I was livid like wtf?? But I digress. We go to the "pharmacy", I noticed that for everyone and everything they gave you the same assortment of random powders with the same posology, same duration and everything, plus the establishment issued Safara bottle, all of them with a sticker of the guy plastered on it. My turn comes and same shit, and the guy at the desk gives me some green powder to snort like whut?? Yoo and I did and that was probably the only time I will ever snort something in front of my mum shits crazy.
I was sneezing like crazy because of the drip. We finish that pack out things and go. It was 22:30 when we left.
As a businessman myself, that guy is excellent in running that. It was more of a media company than anything else. The guy cleared in just one day 1,5 millions in consultation fees alone, nevermind the prescriptions and preprints.
The interviews were paid ones, he paid that tall comedian to interview him for his own company, because the comedians network was in no way involved in the interview. And the testimonies bruh, one instance, a mother came out from the room with his son and they made a a whole demonstration about what the marabout did for them and things the like, one employee pulled out and Osmo Pocket 3 to film them.
Now this is just my experience and I don't have a lot of them concerning marabouts. Someone can read this and have an entirely different opinion on the events that happened but from I seen from this specific guy, he is one of the most successful and elaborate scammers in the country. Guy is more of a media personality that anything he claims to be for real.
