First Details On Avatar Studios Scrapped ‘Firelord Zuko’ Animated Movie (EXCLUSIVE)

"The main plot of the film focused on the mysterious murder of the dragons, Ran & Shaw, from Book 3 of the original series. This means Zuko would have the last living dragon with the egg he finds in Book 3 and is an adult in The Legend of Korra. There is also an assassination attempt on UncleIroh. All to draw out Firelord Zuko as the next possible target by this mysterious assassin. This film was also gonna delve deeper into his relationship with Azula after the 100-Year War. A new actress was already signed on to voice Azula after the great Grey DeLisle voiced her in the original series. It sounds like it drew inspiration from the comics The Search and Smoke & Shadow. Since those comics were about Azula’s time in prison and eventual escape, however, it was not going to be a direct adaptation of either comic."

Bryke has already said in SDCC 2026 press interviews that Avatar Studios will focus more on series going forward and not on feature films, so this concept will most likely be buried. Damn shame because Zuko is such a compelling character. Would love to see more animated stories about his reign as well as his relationships with Iroh & Azula.

Hi. This fanfic is quite a few years old and I think it was on fanfiction.net, but I'm not too sure.

Katara is heavily pregnant and makes her way to the fire nation. She was poisoned either in transit or on arrival and has to cut her arm to bend the poison out of her body. Though he doesn't know who got Katara pregnant, Zuko takes on a protective role while she recovers, i.e. grants her a suite next to his, visits her everyday and carries her into the tub so she continue healing herself.

He also has hazy recurring dreams of intimate moments with someone while drunk, but can't bring himself to hope that it was with Katara despite his feelings for her. These dreams began after his trip to the Southern Water Tribe.

Sokka visits them in the fire nation and Zuko withdraws to give them space and sort out his feelings. This ends up angering Katara, and Sokka has to mediate, eventually scolding Zuko a bit for neglecting her. Zuko ends up accepting his feelings and decides to woo Katara even when he still thinks that Katara's partner may still be in the picture.

Happy ending of course, because Katara's intimate encounter was with Zuko, and she kept giving him hints while they tried to figure out how and why she was poisoned in the first place. I think she ended up embroidering his initial into the baby's socks and he finally remembered.
