Florida medicaid avoiding fraud
Hi. I've had food stamps and medicaid and pregnancy medicaid and now my children are on kidcare , all beginning from 2020 when I fell pregnant. I was much younger and didn't take things as seriously and now im beginning sweat. This is MY FAULT, I accept that. But im trying to do the right thing now, now that it has finally dawned on me what I've done.
When I applied for pregnancy medicine nearly 7 years ago, I skipped the step of adding my bank account and my now husband's. Pay stubs are already pulling teeth , as he has been the only one working , every raise, every change in job I've been on him about reporting thr change on time which requires paystubs and information from him and he always called me crazy because I was so timely about change reports. I already knew they saw how much he was getting paid I thought they were just asking for too much and DID NOT take it seriously. I do now. Again, I never considered how these government entities to NOT play around. Only through some googling did I realize that if they find undisclosed bank accounts they will flag me for fraud.
So long story long, my question : will disclosing 2 previously undisclosed accounts trigger an investigation? Will they be quiet about it as they review my account and then surprise me with penalties? Im just scared to death. I havent been perfect. Im an unemployed home maker and have gotten birthday and Christmas money that I've deposited in my otherwise inactive account from time to time to pay towards a credit card or secret presents for myself that I didnt want my husband to know about and tell me I didnt need that etc...
Long read. Thanks if you're still here.
