Anyone watch Falling Skies right after Stargate? Collin Cunningham is a great actor.
It's so jarring(but great) seeing him as Major Davis and then seeing him as Pope in Falling Skies.

I'm not sure if the title even describes what I want very well. It's just a certain vibe I'm looking for. I want to start a game and realize I enjoy the basic gameplay and then I open the... menu, or the map, or the whatever, and go "hoooooly shit, SO many things to do in so many different ways, overwhelming in the best way" and I want options to where if I'm frustrated with one thing I can completely just fuck off and there's multiple other things I could choose to do for hours on end instead. Varied examples - Path of Exile, Factorio, Snowrunner all would fit this.
Now, I watch and read about and play tons of games, and I come to this sub often. PLEASE give me lesser known games or at the very least give me a perspective on a game I haven't heard a billion times here before.
And if anyone suggests Crimson Desert, I'm gonna send you to bed without dinner.
I've realized one of the reasons I like MMOs, even though I almost entirely play as if they're single player games, is the global chat. Even if I'm not chatting at all myself, there's just something I like about seeing some people "over there" interacting while I play.
I know I've seen a few non-MMOs that do it, but I can only think of two and I'm curious what others there are. Tales of Maj'Eyal and Diablo 2 are the ones I can think of. And I do know Warframe and Path of Exile, but putting aside any semantics debates, I'm gonna call those MMOs for this. EDIT: I do know about server-based survival games too and I know most of those.
