Clear MRE

Has anyone had a MRE with no inflammation observed but yet has debilitating symptoms? I had a resection in June and in July my symptoms came back worse than they did before surgery. Just completed my scan and it’s quite literally unremarkable. I’m at a loss of what to do from here. Waiting to hear from my GI but also wanted to hear other peoples stories with this.

Exhausted

This disease is truly exhausted me in every meaning of the word. I had a right hemicolectomy in June due to a stricture in my terminal ileum that was unresponsive to biologics for over a year. Post surgery was okay for about a month. Then came insane bile acid diarrhea 10 times a day with intense urgency. Shortly after noticed my Rinvoq in the toilet fully intact, not absorbed at all. Like clockwork, 3-4 hours after taking it, I passed it and everything else in my stomach. A week ago I had black stool for a few days, went to the ER and left knowing my hemoglobin was fine and a referral to the general surgeon for endoscopy. A few days later, passed only blood and blood clots. Now I’m back on the loading dose, taking it at night so it has more time to absorb but not I just feel so utterly weak and fatigued. Blood in stool has resolved but now my colorectal surgeon is requesting an appointment with me given my new symptoms. However my surgeon is 2 hours away and doesn’t offer virtual visits. I’m just so exhausted of all the pain, stress, bills, and confusion. I wish things were simpler

Tablets not digesting

Has anyone had any experience with their body not digesting their medications? I’m talking like passing whole pills. I’m in a flare and my body recently decided it’s gonna pass my whole Rinvoq tablet and not absorb the meds. I’m waiting to hear back from my GI but just wanted to see what other people experiences are with this.

Favorite flare meals

What is everyone’s flare meals??

I never had many dietary restrictions. But now after my bowel resection my inflammation has come back with a vengeance. I can’t even drink plain water at the moment. Desperately trying to find something I can eat so I don’t have to go to the ER.

No - go foods

I’m recently having to lock in and adjust my diet as I approach remission to prevent a new flare. My main trigger foods at the moment are potatoes (all kinds), and all dairy. I’m aware everyone is different but, What are the foods you absolutely stay away from?

Passive aggressive or clueless?

Does anybody find it offensive when someone says “I hope you get better soon” or “you’ll get better eventually”. And I don’t mean strangers, but like family or friends that are familiar and UTD with your health care atm.

Do you think they mean it passive aggressively? Is it meant to feel like a slap in the face? Or do they truly not understand after getting it explained to them a million times?
