Have any administrative staff members here relocated with the faculty you support? My PI is being courted by another institution. He is negotiating me into his contract with a significant raise (30%+), and pushing them for a home buying bonus. If this works out, I will be moving out of state, probably buying a home (I rent currently), and leaving the place I've lived for 15 years.

If anyone has done this or something like it, can you share your experience in the transfer process? I am planning to make this move if the new institution can meet the salary request (my PI is confident that they will) and give mesomething that I can put towards a home. This is all under wraps at the moment, so I can't even bounce it off my colleagues and friends at work.
