Notice of Intention to Sell directly after Signing Lease

Hey all,

Just signed a 12 month lease to rent a place on 8/5/26, and just today have been hit with a notice of intention to sell (12/5/26). This feels oddly pre-meditated and like they were intending to sell beforehand but wanted a tenant to rent to whilst trying to sell.

We have not even moved items into the place and having to facilitate inspections whilst being a night shift worker is going to be a nightmare.

Are there any grounds to break the lease without paying the penalty of breaking the lease?
