I guess I am already finished for this summer, so now it's time to find internships that are off cycle. I'm not sure where to specifically find off cycle internships other than to just search on LinkedIn. Do these tend to be more competitive than summer roles?

Just curious, I'm an international student and I feel like it's almost impossible to find internships that are willing to hire people who will need sponsorship down the line. Are there any strategies or tips to find roles that specifically sponsor. People say it's a numbers game and that you should apply to 20 a day, but I can barely find 5 that sponsor (and a lot of these tend to require masters or phd). Also, how useful is networking really? I almost never get a response, and when I do its rarely helpful. Any tips to increase my odds of getting a response? I feel super lost and I can't tell if my resume or profile is just not impressive or if being an international student is what's lowering my odds.
