Hello everyone, this is a first time post here. I am preparing to start a window cleaning service and I just had some general questions about creating a legally sound waiver. I am completely open to the idea of working with a local lawyer to ensure that all of the details are sound, but I would like some input as to what details should all be included.
Questions:
• Should I have two separate documents made up? The first one being a scratch waiver to protect myself from a client trying to blame me for unveiling any pre-existing blemishes and to lay out the details of what is all contained in a "window clean"? And the second one for commercial jobs if they would like to commit to regular window cleaning?
• Should the scratch waiver disclose the potential methods involved such as using scrapers and/or abrasives to remove stuck-up debris? Would it be a bad idea for them to select and allow certain methods on their windows?
• Currently, I am planning on using House call Pro. From my understanding, I can attach waivers to the estimates and send them via email, have them sign the documents and send them back to me. But how can I set this up to be easier and more streamlined for my clients to sign documents like this?
I'm sorry if anything should be obvious, I would just like to make sure that everything is documented and covered before laying a blade down onto somebody's window, especially if it wasn't disclosed and signed for.
