STEM OPT —> B2 Experience?
Hi everyone, i am currently on my STEM OPT which is ending in ~3 months (~5 months with the grace period)
I want to apply for a Change of Status (COS) Form I-539 to a Tourist B2 Visa so that I can stay here until Christmas / New Years. Honestly its just for personal reasons as I barely got to take any days off the last 3 years and didnt really get to celebrate any holidays while in the US so want to spend one last holiday with the friends ive made here
I wont be changing my B2 status back to F1 etc. or trying to further prolong my stay beyond the B2 visa period. I will be going home after
Do you know if this COS path is a risky one to take - does USCIS view OPT to B2 as risky / does it often get denied?
Would appreciate any insights you may have / recommendations or if anyone has experience similar to this
