My pug has been struggling with yeasty paws lately

(No other issues)

We've since taken him to the vet where hes been prescribed 2 medications Prednisolone + Cefpodoxime and mal-a-ket wipes.

Hes finished his doses, and went for a follow up. DR says not much of a difference

Since he's finished his round of medications his nose has been extra crusty. Lots of dermatitis and needs a daily wipe when it typically used to only need a cleaning every 4 days. Is this normal ?

DR wants us to start medications (apoquel). however I expressed trying to treat with no meds.

I want to rule out allergens or try to help releieve the issue without jumping to medications first.

Any ideas on where to start?

Currently using mal-a-ket wipes every night and the shampoo(only on feet) during biweekly showers.

Also what could of triggered his nose dermatitis? Could stopping the medications back fired ?
